Historic Sugar House Properties
Sugar House properties were designed in 1863 by Denmark-born Detlef Lienau, who eventually became the founder of the American Institute of Architects. This eye-catching glass and copper building was originally a Jersey City waterfront warehouse that became part of the American Sugar Refining Company.
By 1907, the Refining Company had employed over 1,500 workers across four city blocks of Jersey City waterfront. Since this time, it has survived two significant fires in 1924 and in 1955. The building was renovated into condos and opened for occupancy in 2001.
Sugar House properties offer loft ceilings that vault up to 10-ft in height, with stainless steel appliances, large master suites and walk-in closets. Sleek baths feature imported Italian tile, whirlpool tubs and spa showers.
